According to certain mythologies, forests are enormous herds of trees that move very slowly through the land.
According to Basque mythology, the Basajaun are the guardians of these forests. They are also the shepherds of the trees.
According to Buddhists, a tree and its seed are the same, only at two different moments. We cannot attend to both states simultaneously, which is why we only see them in one way.
I believe that within each tree beats a forest, and that we must become Basajaun to protect them.
This installation embodies a sophisticated exploration of the intricate relationship between humanity and its natural surroundings, articulated through an innovative fusion of technology and organic materials. The sculptures, crafted from photographs generated by artificial intelligence, printed on glass, and supported by elements derived from nature, serve as a profound commentary on the interconnectedness of human existence with the environment. The choice of media—AI’s intangible algorithms rendered visible on glass, juxtaposed with the tangible reality of plant-based supports—echoes the dichotomy between the digital and natural worlds. This work not only challenges the viewer’s perceptions of art and technology but also invites a deeper reflection on the delicate balance that sustains our planet and our place within it. As such, it stands as a testament to the potential of contemporary art to navigate and narrate the complexities of our times.
